    Get PDF
A description of the design stage and results of the development of the conceptual structure of a robotic prosthesis arm is given. As a result, a prototype of manmade prosthesis on a 3D printer as well as a foundation for computational intelligence presented. The application of soft computing technology (the first step of IT) allows to extract knowledge directly from the physical signal of the electroencephalogram, as well as to form knowledge-based intelligent robust control of the lower performing level taking into account the assessment of the patient’s emotional state. The possibilities of applying quantum soft computing technologies (the second step of IT) in the processes of robust filtering of electroencephalogram signals for the formation of mental commands and quantum supremacy simulation of robotic prosthetic arm discussed

    Get PDF
The task of an intelligent control system design applying soft and quantum computational intelligence technologies discussed. An example of a control object as a mobile robot with redundant robotic manipulator and stereovision introduced. Design of robust knowledge bases is performed using a developed computational intelligence – quantum / soft computing toolkit (QC/SCOptKBTM). The knowledge base self-organization process of fuzzy homogeneous regulators through the application of end-to-end IT of quantum computing described. The coordination control between the mobile robot and redundant manipulator with stereovision based on soft computing described. The general design methodology of a generalizing control unit based on the physical laws of quantum computing (quantum information-thermodynamic trade-off of control quality distribution and knowledge base self-organization goal) is considered. The modernization of the pattern recognition system based on stereo vision technology presented. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is demonstrated in comparison with the structures of control systems based on soft computing for unforeseen control situations with sensor system

Geodocumentating and selection estimation of 23 taxa of the lilac genus collection (Syringa L.) were conducted in the Central Botanical Gardens of NAS of Belarus (hereinafter – CBG). The obtained data were used to document the taxa of the named collection on the basis of the geographic information system ArcGIS. This allowed us to determine the characteristics of the location of the investigated lilac species and serves as the basis for carrying out a large number of studies, combining the data of the researchers of different generations. The following parameters were defined: coordinates of the location within CBG, percentage proportion syringin, bark proportion in relation to the timber, dry matter content in the crust. Integrated productivity was calculated in the studied taxa. On this basis, each taxon is added to particular selection categories: category 1 – shrubs with high productivity (1.80 and more kg/t of raw material); category 2 – shrubs with average productivity (0.80– 1.80 kg/t of raw material); category 3 – shrubs with low productivity (0.80 and below kg/t of raw materials).

A generalized design strategy of intelligent robust control systems based on quantum/soft computing technologies that enhance robustness of hybrid intelligent controllers by supplying a self-organizing capability is described. We stress our attention on the robustness features of intelligent control systems in unpredicted control situations with the simulation of Benchmark

The Fourth International Symposium on Alien Species in the Holarctic was convened September 22-28, 2013, by the Russian Academy of Sciences at the I.D. Papanin Institute for the Biology of Inland Waters (IBIW) on the Volga River in Borok (approximate to 355 km north of Moscow). The Organizing Committee spanned five countries (France, People's Republic of China, Poland, Russian Federation, and the United States), with participants (n=150) across the breadth and depth of the Russian Federation, from countries in proximity to it (i.e., Armenia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Siberia, and The Republic of China), and more globally from the United States to Tasmania and Norway to South Africa. This report provides a synopsis of invasive species issues that were discussed at the symposium and, as such, provides an international window for the evaluation of fisheries-related topics in this part of the globe

Rarely naturalized, but widespread and even invasive: the paradox of a popular pet terrapin expansion in Eurasia

The North American terrapin, the red-eared slider, has globally recognized invasive status. We built a new extensive database using our own original and literature data on the ecology of this reptile, representing information on 1477 water bodies throughout Eurasia over the last 50 years. The analysis reveals regions of earliest introductions and long-term spatio-temporal dynamics of the expansion covering now 68 Eurasian countries, including eight countries reported here for the first time. We established also long-term trends in terms of numbers of terrapins per aquatic site, habitat occupation, and reproduction success. Our investigation has revealed differences in the ecology of the red-eared slider in different parts of Eurasia. The most prominent expression of diverse signs of invasion success (higher portion of inhabited natural water bodies, higher number of individuals per water body, successful overwintering, occurrence of juvenile individuals, successful reproduction, and establishment of populations) are typical for Europe, West Asia and East Asia and tend to be restricted to coastal regions and islands. Reproduction records coincide well with the predicted potential range based on climatic requirements but records of successful wintering have a wider distribution. This invader provides an excellent and possibly unique (among animals) example of wide alien distribution, without the establishment of reproducing populations, but through the recruitment of new individuals to rising pseudopopulations due to additional releases. Therefore, alongside the potential reproduction range, a cost-effective strategy for population control must take in account the geographical area of successful wintering. Graphical abstrac
